Hi folks,

Up for grabs is a HIMS Inc. Braille Sense U2, Perkins Keyboard model. I've had this device for about six months now, thinking it was essential
that I had a dedicated notetaker for my current lifestyle. However, I've barely used it at all during this period of time, since my phone paired to my little Braille display proved more than adequate. Therefore, I'd rather sell this Braille Sense to someone that would get more use out of it, and let's be real, it would be nice to get some money out of it to help pay the rent. The Braille Sense is a very powerful notetaker, boasting several traits that make it ideal for either the blind working professional or student. It has an eight-dot Perkins keyboard, (the most quiet Perkins keyboard I have ever encountered), a 32-cell Braille display with cursor-routing buttons, speech output, a mini LCD display for visual output, and also a VGA port for connecting
to an external monitor. It also has three USB host ports, one USB client port for connecting to a computer, 32 gigs of internal memory as well as an SD card slot, WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity, and a built-in GPS receiver. It can also be used as a Braille display in conjunction with a PC or Mac computer, and Android or IOS devices. The system has a number of useful apps, such as a word processor, calculator, web browser, email client, media player, and
others. For further info, visit its home website at:
https://hims-inc.com/products/braille-sense-u2/
As mentioned above, I've owned this device for about
half a year, and have only used it a handful of occasions during that time. Therefore, the Sense is in like new working order in all aspects. I would be shipping it in its original box, along with its carrying case, charger, USB cable for connecting to a computer, original manuals, and all other original accompanying items I can locate. The original selling price for this unit is $5595, so I think an asking price of $3600 is not unreasonable. If interested, please contact me by sending an email to berberi.albano66@gmail.com
Payment via PayPal would be ideal, though I can also accept a check if necessary. Shipping is on me, unless the buyer lives outside the United States.

Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Albano.

I believe people will begin purchasing the new Android note-takers. They are more modern. Good luck.

I don't know. android can be quite the limited operating system when pairing it with nitch products. I am not impressed by the droid monster humanwear has created. I would pick the u2 over it any day. it does a few things, and does them well. vs the note touch that is designed to do a bunch of things maybe well, most likely only passable.

I totally agree. I think that a lot of people will still, at least initially, keep buying these older devices, simply because they are simpler, more seasoned, and are quite good at what they do.

Update: U2 is now selling for $2500, on the off chance that anyone could use and afford it.

Like you, I find that my small Braille display and my iPhone combo works really well for me. I'm more of a typist than a braillist, too. Good luck.

The BN touch does offer some cool things, but I find that it's a bit heavy, and doesn't seem to have a snappy TTS. As for the b2g, forget it. I have not seen the NeoBraille beyond a prototype, so can't comment on that.
